APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
AT UNION MEDIA LIMITED
London, February 18th: Union Media Holdings Limited ("Union" or "the
Company") announces the appointment of Rohan Courtney as Executive Chairman
with immediate effect. Courtney joins the Company shortly after Union
announced its proposal to raise up to 2million GBP by way of a reverse
take-over of OFEX listed company Transad Plc.
Courtney brings with him a wealth of expertise in corporate governance with
more than 30 years of experience in the financial services and media
sectors. As Chief Executive in London of the State Bank of New South Wales
he became closely involved with the media sector while establishing
relationships with News Corporation. During the time of his tenure
(1982-1990) State Bank become one of the main banks for News Corporation.
As Chairman of International Pacific Securities (1993-1996) Courtney formed
part of the team which arranged the sale of Grundy Television (owners of
game show formats and Australian soap operas) to Pearson Television. From
1996-2001 Courtney was Chairman of AIM-listed West 175 Media Group. He was
responsible for all fund raising and built the company from a market cap of
3million GBP when it floated in September 1996 to 50million GBP at the time
of his leaving. From 1996-1998 he also chaired the AIM listed Sanctuary
Music Productions Plc.
Says Courtney. "This is an exciting time for Union. I am looking forward to
working with fellow board members on the proposed reverse acquisition of
Transad, and the future development of the company through new productions
and the exploitation of Union's considerable portfolio of intellectual
property rights."

regarding Courtney's appointment.
